DANK'S BIO
Dank was born in New Orleans lower 9th ward, a section riddled with
gangs, drugs and poverty.
Adam Dank Sims began chasing his dream at an early age. He started
rapping at the young age of 12. He dropped his first album in a
collaboration with lifelong friend Glenn "Bigdog" Moores, a project
named Down Town Soldiers.
Coming up in the thriving New Orleans underground hip-hop scene, he
learned from and worked with the best of the best in the city. Refining
his style and learning the business of the rap game, he had hopes of
founding his own label. In Febuary 2002 his dreams came to pass when he
established his label, "Money Hungry Records" and released his first
solo project entitled "Dank World".
Dank World was the result of years of hard work and sacrifice and was
widely celebrated on the local level selling almost 5000 units and
gaining play on local radio and in clubs from Houston to Atlanta. Dank
followed up that release with a steady tour schedule, traveling and
performing with fellow New Orleanian, "Chopper" - who was signed to No
Limit Records and is now with Body Head. Dank has also opened for
nationally acclaimed artists such as the legendary Soulja Slim,
Scarface, Juvenile, Lil' Wayne, B.G., Jim Jones, Lil' Flip and Mase.
Dank's 2006 release, "Life After Katrina" overflows with emotion and
his opinions on not only his hometown but the nation in this
Post-Katrina world.
In 2008, Dank released his 3rd album entitled, "Never Seen It Comin"
to rave reviews and saw the release of his first music video for the
song, "Hater Blockers" which received enormous radio call-in requests
leading to it's #1 status on many local and surrounding area radio
stations.
Most recently, Dank has been putting the finishing touches on his
soon-to-be-released, "History In The Making" CD which should be in
stores and online for purchase by early 2011.
